Men's Rings Mean dissimilar Things on dissimilar Fingers

One might be tempted to think that the meaning behind men's ring placement is as simple as the customary wedding band. And while a ring placed on the "ring" finger of the left hand is the most widely recognised symbolic placement, there are other meanings for men's rings, depending on which finger they adorn, and their orientation on the hand.

One of the most sublime and complicated examples of this is the Claddagh ring. A customary emblem of love among the Irish, this band features a pair of hands keeping a heart, with a crown resting on the top. When worn on the right hand with the heart facing out towards the world, it shows a person's open heart and availability to find love. When worn with the heart pointed towards their own heart, it symbolizes how their love has already been captured by another. When worn on the left hand, an outward heart shows their betrothal to another; an inward heart means they are married.

Pearl

Wedding bands are a more commonly known example. Worn on the left hand in modern Western culture, they belong on the "ring finger". Traditionally, no other ring (other than an engagement ring) should be worn on that finger. The left hand was believed to have the "vein of love" running along its ring finger, related directly to the heart. Thus, a ring on that finger was as close to the wearer's heart at possible.

Pinkie rings have the unique position of being somewhat without a cultural or historical background. There are two examples of variations, however: The Engineer's Ring or Iron Ring is worn by many Canadian expert engineers, and each one is said to be made from a piece of the poorly-engineered Quebec Bridge that collapsed in the early 1900's; the other is the Signet ring, which in times past was used to originate a stamp or seal, which was used instead of a signature on a document.

Another placement of meaning is not a finger at all. Thumb ring can be a emblem of your sexuality, a fashion statement, or for archery. In some circles, a thumb ring on the right hand indicates a gay or lesbian lifestyle. In other circles, of course, sometimes a thumb ring is just a thumb ring - worn there because the piece of jewellery in interrogate was plainly too large to be worn on any regular finger, or as a fashion statement. And for some who convention the art of archery, a thumb ring is a tool in a determined style of bow drawing, meant to safe the flesh of the thumb.

In the end, it pays to know what sort of men's ring you are wearing, and while you should be conscious of what finger you wear it on, do not allow these rules to rule your life. A ring is a possession, and as such, you define it - not the other way around.

3 Things to Remember when Buying Bridal Jewelry

A woman's wedding day is the best time for her to look her best. This is probably the surmise why so many women spend in gowns, make up and jewelry for their wedding day. The bridal jewelry, in particular, is of great importance because it does not only allow a woman to look beautiful and glamorous on her wedding day. It also reflects the preciousness of the occasion. The importance of the bridal jewelry therefore entails proper option and some know how in buying. When selecting bridal jewelry, take into notice the following pointers:

Elegant jewelries are fit for a wedding. The wedding is one of the events where a woman should have to be very choosy in the option of her jewelries. This is for surmise that the jewelry reflects how special an occasion is. As such, wearing trendy but cheap looking jewelries on your wedding day is naturally a big no. Having elegant jewelries does not mean having to splurge fortunes, though. It naturally means being able to pick jewelries that can make you look respectable and elegant on your wedding day.

Pearl

Classic jewelries are in. Classic stones and precious metals like gold, diamonds and pearls remain to be the most sought after bridal jewelries. Wearing Classic jewelries to go along with your wedding gown naturally highlights the customary importance of wedding ceremonies. When you buy Classic jewelries for your wedding day, you can keep using these jewelries regardless of time and fashion changes. You may even be able to hand these jewelries over to your daughter someday when she too will enter the bond of marriage.

Your jewelry must complement you and your wedding theme. Your jewelry should match you wedding dress and accessories. Jewelries are best in accentuating your appearance on your wedding day. As such, it is leading that when selecting jewelries, you pick colors and styles that do not clash with your gown or wedding theme. If you pick an emerald studded earring, for example, to match you wedding gown that is predominantly accessorized in red flowers and red embroideries, the pair would not match. If you have chosen a blue motif for your wedding, it is also best to pick a jewelry that would not clash with the color blue. Pearls and diamonds, as such, are best choices because their colors in fact match and blend with approximately all wedding themes and motifs.

If you are on the look out for bridal jewelries that you will use on your great day, remember these tips. You just deserve to have the best and most appropriate jewelry for you to look your best on your big day.
